Service Description

Please Note - This course has a two week break on the 27/9/24 and 4/10/24 Mechelle has spent most of 2023 reviewing our course to incorporate the most up to date advice from some of the world’s best trainers. She has also taken her 30 years’ experience training thousands of puppies as well as her substantial knowledge, well beyond degree level, to ensure that the learning provided for your pet is as individual as they are. Not being part of a franchise or limited by a parent organisation, our course is the evolution of experience and behavioural science giving you the skills to train your pet for life. Over 7 weeks these 45-minute sessions, work on building a bond between you and your dog, while training your dog to be a great learner. Each week, you also get an email with all the training techniques explained, along with video demonstrations and extra tips and hints to help to get the most out of your pet. We will also be on hand to answer your emails and messages, to provide any advice you need while you are training. The training course covers:- • Appropriate socialisation with dogs and people • Food manners • Grooming • Safe play • Walking on a lead • Not jumping up • Sit, down and stand • Puppy Recall • Learning to wait • Being handled by people • Training for the vets. • Basic canine first aid - clinical readings • Chewing & biting control • Leaving objects • Controlling barking • Working against the distraction of other dogs and people • How to use rewards effectively • How to use praise effectively The course also incorporates the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course. We give you the skills to teach your dog, every day in every location, without force and discomfort. Building a bond between you and your dog. If you only ever do one course with your puppy this is the one to do, it will teach you the skills to train your dog for life. We also offer follow on courses, which many other trainers cannot provide and support the training of the Show, Agility and Rally Obedience puppies in getting a head start, via our very experienced team. We prefer to train on flat collars, half check collars or front fastening harnesses. (which we may check is fitted correctly) and a normal lead of about 3ft. We do not allow extendable leads & full choke chains for training. Head collars are allowed. We ask that everyone wears sensible footwear while training for the safety of dogs and humans.
